Back in July 2025, the Aviomania Aircraft team had the chance to showcase the EUSOME Project vision at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025 in Wisconsin, USA. At their dedicated booth, our partners presented a 3D-printed model of their eVTOL concept and shared insights into the EUSOME project’s goals and key technological innovations. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with aviation enthusiasts, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of urban and personal air mobility. The conversations and feedback received at Oshkosh continue to shape our work today, supporting the ongoing development of flexible, lightweight, mission-ready eVTOL designs. Leveraging big data, drones, and AI , the country is tackling widespread tax evasion and moving beyond past economic challenges. The new high-tech overhaul, at the heart of the system, is centered on an ultramodern digital center where algorithms analyze millions of real-time transactions across electronic payment, customs, and bank records to flag anomalies with a high potential for illegal activity. Complementing this analysis, drones and live surveillance feeds are deployed to monitor remote and physical locations—from island ports and restaurants to hidden grain silos—providing inspectors with real-time visual evidence to execute targeted raids. This sweeping digitalization effort has been credited with generating a budget surplus, increasing government revenues, and successfully restoring Greece’s sovereign bonds to investment grade. Such developments illustrate how digital governance, automation, and intelligent monitoring technologies are reshaping public-sector efficiency, aligning with the broader European shift toward data-driven decision making and resilient digital infrastructures, a vision central to the EUSOME Project’s mission. This marks a major milestone toward creating a robust, standardized framework to safely and responsibly integrate unmanned vehicles into its national space. The Strategy focuses on four key areas: Establishing clear regulations and guidelines to promote safe usage. Enhancing security and privacy through measures like secure communication and identification. Actively fostering the growth of the domestic drone industry via R&D, investment, and supporting SMEs. Leveraging drone technology for societal benefit in areas like disaster response, environmental monitoring, and other public applications. This important initiative is led by EUSOME Project partner, the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, in close collaboration with the National Authorities and relevant stakeholders. https://lnkd.in/dCNHnfUH

Imagine that link is lost – you are basically blind in terms of non-cooperative traffic. What we are working on here can be used as a redundancy system that still detects and displays other airspace users – this would allow you to land as soon and as safely as possible.’ Our partners ATHENA Research Center further discussed how this information is brought together in the EUSOME Excellence Hub Infrastructure, focusing on the work required in order to calibrate both sensors in order to be able to project 3D points (radar data), onto the 2D plane (camera data).‘It’s not easy to understand what the radar sees,’ Dimitrios Tsourounis explains, when outlining the challenges of trying to align the manner in which these two different types of information can be used together to paint a clearer picture, ‘we are designing this step-by-step’. Stay tuned on our LinkedIn today and tomorrow for more technical insights as we dive deeper into the technical work of the project!EUSOME Project partners: KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, Hellenic U-space Institute, ATHENA Research Center, Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, Cyprus Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Hellenic Drones S.A., Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Aviomania Aircraft, GRNET - Greek Research & Technology Network, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Adrestia R&D, Centrum Badań Kosmicznych Polskiej Akademii Nauk, SocialTech Lab, Institute Mihajlo Pupin, EPIRUS - Perifereia Ipeirou, and Mediterranean Adventure Ltd.
