Electronics & Information Processing
Design and analysis of the digital transceiver chain: signal space & constellations, matched filter & ML detection, PSK/QAM/FSK modulation, pulse shaping & ISI, equalization, channel coding, OFDM, synchronization, 4G LTE & 5G NR. Weekly MATLAB labs and Monte Carlo BER simulations.
Every spring semester · next 2026–2027 eClass
The wireless channel and the physical layer of mobile systems: propagation, path loss, shadowing and small-scale fading, Doppler, coherence time and bandwidth, the discrete-time baseband model, detection, diversity, coding and channel estimation, cellular systems and multiple access (CDMA, SDMA), capacity and spatial multiplexing (MIMO), and next-generation technologies (massive MIMO, mmWave, beamforming). Assessed through a MATLAB simulation project (BER and capacity vs SNR), a written report and presentation, and an oral exam.
